Ion Generation Using Frozen Xenon Target for Laser Ion Source

A frozen laser target that is in the gaseous phase at room temperature advantageous for a ion source because it can avoid accumulation of damage from irradiation by regeneration surface additional gas freezing. In this study, possibility forming xenon beam with current sufficient heavy-ion inertial fusion (HIF) was investigated. The relationship between growth and resulting analyzed to determine optimal condition ensures stable supply beams long time. formed on mount cooled 20 K using Gifford McMahon cryocooler, plasma generated Nd:YAG laser. results showed possible application singly charged ions as driver HIF. Additionally, indicated responsible existed only certain depth surface. imply obtain time irradiating after grows thickness.
